CarFit is an educational program that offers education and safety on how well their personal vehicles fit an individual. This 12 point check system is supported by AAA, AARP, and the American Occupational Therapy Association. The goals of the program are the hope learn how to use and adjust your safety devices in your vehicle, reduce blind spots, establish adequate space from the steering wheel, proper seat belt use, and properly adjust head restraints.
Responsibilities (specific details of volunteer duties):
- ·Attend 3 hour training (lunch provided)
- Assist at 1 CarFit Event annually (2 to 4 hours)
- Be friendly, welcoming, and patient with people who attend the CarFit Event.
- Follow the 12 point check system to help adjust all features within a person vehicle to improve their overall safety while operating the vehicle
- Ability to communicate clearly with Whitney Senior Center staff and other volunteers

- 1- Schedule
- Event Date(s): Training day is August 9th from 1 to 3pm. CarFit Event date will be set after training
- Shift Time(s): 1 to 3pm
Other Information
- Dress Code: Comfortable clothing. Safety vests will be provided while the actual event takes place
- Parking Instructions: Park in either of our parking lots. Parking spots are always available
