Share your career journey and inspire the next generation! Junior Achievement (JA) is looking for professionals from all industries to serve as Career Speaker Volunteers in classrooms across Central Minnesota.
As a JA Career Speaker, you’ll visit a classroom and speak with students about your career path, your job, and the skills needed to succeed in your field. You can bring props, visuals, or examples from your work to make your talk engaging and interactive. JA provides a simple outline in advance to help you prepare, and a teacher will be present to support classroom management and student engagement.
This is a one-time volunteer opportunity—perfect for professionals who want to give back without a long-term time commitment.
What You’ll Do:
-
Deliver a 20–30 minute talk about your career, with time for student Q&A
-
Share personal stories, education background, and real-world experiences
-
Help students connect what they’re learning in school to future careers
-
Use visual aids or work samples to enhance your presentation
Who We’re Looking For:
-
Professionals from all career fields and backgrounds
-
Confident communicators who enjoy engaging with youth
-
Passionate individuals who want to make a difference in students' lives
Why It Matters:
Your story could be the one that helps a student discover their dream job, explore a new industry, or understand the value of education. This small time commitment can have a big impact.
