Who We Are
We are a faith based 501 C non profit organization helping seniors throughout Sherburne and surrounding areas. Great River Faith in Action’s Purpose Statement “Our purpose is to help bring together the hands and feet of Christ in caring for the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of our neighbors, with a special focus on the elderly and those that care for them." At GRFIA we help our elderly & disabled neighbors stay within their homes for a long as it is safe and practical for them to do so. We evaluate the needs of individual clients, they then pass these needs onto our coordinators, they work with local churches and other organization as well as our own volunteer base to help our elderly neighbors with transportation, getting them to and from their medical, dental and eye appointments, the grocery store; we also find people to do light maintenance and other household chores; we give caregivers a break by providing them with Respite Care.
We also provide our clients, and families in the process of rebuilding their lives with beds, chairs, and tables, couches and various household items. We partner with Becker Furniture to make this happen.
All our services are at no cost as we are community supported.
What We Do
We are a Social Service organization that works with area churches and volunteers in helping area senior citizens & disabled folks to stay within their homes for a long as it is safe and reasonable for them to do so. In this, we also provide area caregivers, and we provide furniture for the elderly as well as for families in need.
