Who We Are

Bring Your Superpower and Become a Foster Grandparent!

The Central MN Foster Grandparent Program is an AmeriCorps Seniors Program sponsored by Catholic Charities that offers adults, age 55 and over, the opportunity to help children succeed at many sites in the community.  The benefits to the volunteers are as great as those to the children.

The Foster Grandparent Program offers many benefits to those who participate, including a tax free stipend, transportation reimbursement for mileage or for using a city bus, orientation, on-going training, health benefits and more.  The joy of helping children and getting frequent hugs seem to be among the “most mentioned” benefits!

What We Do

The Foster Grandparent Program is a nationally recognized intergenerational program. Foster Grandparents may serve as mentors or tutors at various sites in many communities. Bring your heart and superpower (i.e. holding infants, expanding the vocabulary of toddlers, math, reading, woodworking, cooking, art, music, etc.) and help kids succeed.   View the attached video that was featured on WCCO news that highlights the impacts Grandpa Kevin is making while serving as Foster Grandparent at Pine Meadow Primary School in Sartell!
