Monday, September 21. Set up at 1:00 for 1:30 pm event that lasts about an hour.
Team of 6 volunteers to lead a fun event with our Memory Cottage residents.
Give us your idea or get inspired with suggestions:
· Beach party on the patio. Bring water squirters to knock down duck targets. Inflatable pool to let their feet 'swim'. Beach ball toss. Pool noodle game. Serve up some ice cream bars or sorbet.
· Horserace game with volunteers riding stick horses. Residents cheer on their horse as they roll the dice. Who will win? Hairy Trotter or Dolly Troten?? Wear jockey gear or bring out your fascinator or decorated hat. Gather after the win for a mint julep mocktail.
· Sing along. Play guitar, piano (or BT speaker) and re-create camp songs of your youth. Make a mock campfire with tissue paper, twigs, and rocks. Dress in camp gear. Enjoy a bag of Teddy Grahams with mini marshmallows. Bring pictures of local MN wildlife and have them identify.
· Bowling! Help wheelchairs get in position to send the ball down the ramp. Set up the pins. Keep score. Cheer them on. Make a winner trophy or sash. Cheese and crackers to celebrate.
