Volunteer Opportunity: Mending Hearts Sewing Nook Organization
Help us create an organized and inspiring Sewing Nook for Veterans, military families, and community members to learn new skills, express their creativity, and build meaningful connections.
We're looking for volunteers to transform our sewing area into a well-organized, functional workspace where supplies are easy to find and projects can begin with ease.
Volunteer tasks may include:
- Sorting and folding fabric by size, color, or type.
- Organizing thread, needles, notions, quilting supplies, and sewing accessories.
- Arranging sewing machines, cutting mats, irons, and workstations.
- Labeling storage bins, shelves, and drawers.
- Organizing patterns, books, rulers, and instructional materials.
- Creating organized storage for donated supplies.
- Cleaning and preparing sewing tables and equipment.
- Setting up a welcoming, efficient workspace that is accessible for beginners and experienced sewists alike.
No sewing experience is required—just a willingness to organize and help! Volunteers with sewing, quilting, crafting, or organizing experience are especially welcome, but there is a role for everyone.
Your efforts will help create a creative space where Veterans and their families can discover new hobbies, reduce stress, connect with others, and experience the healing power of creativity.
Thank you for helping VREC continue its mission of Connection, Creativity, and Purpose.
