Volunteer Opportunity: Help Build the VREC Junior Warriors Nook
We're looking for volunteers to help create a welcoming, organized, and engaging space for the children of our Veterans and military families.
The Junior Warriors Nook is being designed as a kid-friendly area where children can learn, play, create, and build connections while their parents participate in VREC programs. We need helping hands to transform the space into a safe, organized, and inviting environment.
Volunteer tasks may include:
- Installing shelving units and brackets.
- Measuring and cutting shelving or trim as needed.
- Organizing books, toys, games, puzzles, and learning materials.
- Arranging craft supplies and activity bins so children can easily access them.
- Labeling and organizing shelves to create a functional and welcoming space.
- Installing child-friendly floor padding for safety.
- If time allows, painting the fronts of the shelving units to give the room a bright, finished look.
No special experience is required—just a willingness to help. If you have basic carpentry, painting, organizing, or decorating skills, they will be especially appreciated, but there is a job for everyone.
Together, we can build a space where our Junior Warriors can explore, create, and thrive while their families receive support at the Veteran Resource and Enrichment Center.
Thank you for helping us create a place filled with Connection, Creativity, and Purpose for the next generation of military families.
