Who We Are

The Sisters of Saint Benedict's Monastery and Saint Scholastica Convent are active in diverse ministries throughout the community. The mission of the Volunteer Program focuses on inviting lay people to partner with the sisters in a collaborative effort so they may continue in their ministries. By complementing each other's skills, it is hoped that volunteers and sisters alike will be rewarded in their experiences. It is the vision of the Volunteer Program to be recognized as a source of connecting Saint Benedict's Monastery with the wider community in order to assist particular departments and individuals with specific services or tasks.

What We Do

We, the Sisters of Saint Benedict and Saint Scholastica, are a monastic community of women who seek God in our daily lives according to the Gospel and the Rule of Benedict. Through our ministry of prayer, work, and community living, we listen and respond to the needs of the Church and the world. The Sisters of Saint Benedict and Saint Scholastica Convent have ministered to the people of Stearns County as well as other parts of the United States and in foreign countries for the past 150 years. The areas of service have been in education, health care, care of the elderly, and spiritual and social services.
