Needs From: United Way of Central Minnesota Volunteer Connection

Did you know that you have an opportunity to support over 10,000 Central Minnesota kids in need with foundational school supplies?

There is an immense need for basic educational tools like school supplies. Without the right supplies, it’s incredibly difficult for students to succeed in the classroom. We need your help.

Support local students as they return to the classroom by ensuring they have the tools for success. Donations will benefit Central Minnesota learners.

Here's how you can get involved:

Consider holding a school supply drive at your office, gym or place of worship. Items may be dropped off at United Way until Friday, August 16. Email Mary Krippner or call her at 320-223-7991 to set up a drop-off time.

Finally, please consider making a donation. All funds buy bulk school supplies that are distributed to students in the most need. Text SCHOOL to 26989. 

School supplies stay in our community and are donated to Central Minnesota schools and youth programs.

In Central Minnesota, many people struggle to get essentials like soap, toothpaste, toilet paper, and other items that most of us take for granted. Families and individuals within our community are forced to make heartbreaking choices between necessities and other crucial expenses. Join us as we collect donations of basic need items to ensure everyone has access to the essentials and bring a little comfort to those who need it most.  Items requested are body wash, conditioner, dental floss and toothpaste, laundry soap, lotion, mouthwash, razors, tampons/pads, toilet paper, and Vaseline. Donations can be dropped off at United Way of Central Minnesota, 921 1st Street North, St. Cloud, Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm and Friday 8:00 am to noon. Donate new socks or underwear, all sizes for SOCK-tober! Donations will be given to schools and area shelters. Drop off donations at United Way of Central Minnesota, 921 1st Street North, St. Cloud. United Way Handy Helper is a valuable and rewarding volunteer opportunity! 

United Way Handy Helper will assist and complete simple repair and maintenance of United Way of Central Minnesota's building located in downtown St. Cloud.

Volunteer will perform basic repairs, clean up the parking lot, and other tasks determined by staff. The time commitment is negotiable. 

Must complete a volunteer interview, pass a background check and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

We seek a motivated self-starter with an interest in non-profits and making a positive impact in the community. This position will assist in various social service task work within the Community Impact department.

We seek a motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter with an interest in non-profit fundraising who can work well with others and fill an integral role in our Resource Development department. This position will be supervised with direction from Resource Development staff. This is an unpaid position.

Members of Young Leaders United are individuals between the ages of 18-35, committed to creating positive change in Central Minnesota through volunteerism, advocacy, and philanthropy. 

As a group of young and emerging leaders, members work with Untied Way of Central Minnesota to get involved and better the community through a variety of volunteer projects, networking, and professional development opportunities.
