Committee Member Responsibilities:

Source Partners: Help identify and connect with schools and businesses for program support (e.g., Adopt-a-School, BizTown, and funding opportunities)

Kit Collection & Rebuilds: Assist with gathering used JA program kits and rebuilding them for reuse in future classrooms

Volunteer Recruitment: Support efforts to recruit local volunteers to teach JA programs in area schools

Time Commitment: Monthly committee meetings, plus flexible volunteer support throughout the school year

Are you looking for a fun and meaningful way to support local students while building connections in the community? Join the Junior Achievement bigBowl Committee and help us strike up success for our annual fundraising event! The bigBowl event raises critical funds to support JA programming in our local classrooms — empowering students with financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship skills.

Committee Member Responsibilities:

Attend monthly committee planning meetings (Typically 1 hour meetings January-May)

Help establish event pricing (team registration, raffles, etc.)

Solicit silent auction and raffle item donations

Track and report approximate value of donated items

Assist with pricing of auction items

Help secure prize donations for event games and competitions

Recruit teams to participate in the event

Help identify and secure local sponsors

Support event logistics including set-up, day-of support, and tear-down

Share your career journey and inspire the next generation! Junior Achievement (JA) is looking for professionals from all industries to serve as Career Speaker Volunteers in classrooms across Central Minnesota.

As a JA Career Speaker, you’ll visit a classroom and speak with students about your career path, your job, and the skills needed to succeed in your field. You can bring props, visuals, or examples from your work to make your talk engaging and interactive. JA provides a simple outline in advance to help you prepare, and a teacher will be present to support classroom management and student engagement.

This is a one-time volunteer opportunity—perfect for professionals who want to give back without a long-term time commitment.

What You’ll Do:

Deliver a 20–30 minute talk about your career, with time for student Q&A

Share personal stories, education background, and real-world experiences

Help students connect what they’re learning in school to future careers

Use visual aids or work samples to enhance your presentation
