Volunteer: Storm Drain Stenciling

Stormdrain stenciling is a fun way to spread the message that storm water runoff drains to our waterways and dumping materials into a storm drain is illegal. Storm drain marking is fun and easy! You get to spray paint messages like "No Dumping, Drains to River" by storm drains and clean-up sediment, trash, yard waste and debris from the area around them. The City provides a kit and map for you to do as much as you want. Volunteer as a group or individually. See the weblink or contact the City of St. Cloud at 320-255-7226 for more information. http://ci.stcloud.mn.us/847/Get-Involved

Volunteer: Adopt-a-Storm Drain

The Adopt-a-Storm Drain program allows residents and businesses in the St. Cloud area to adopt storm drains and keep them clear of sediment, trash, yard waste and debris!  Sign-up at www.adopt-a-drain.org

Volunteer fifteen minutes, twice a month, for cleaner waterways and healthier communities. Storm drains flow directly to local lakes, rivers, and wetlands, acting as a conduit for trash and organic pollutants. Adopt a Drain asks residents to adopt a storm drain in their neighborhood or place of work and keep it clear of leaves, trash, sediment and other debris to reduce water pollution.

This is an opportunity people to stay connected to their community, become more educated in area water quality, make a difference, work together, and get some much-needed fresh air.

Visit adopt-a-drain.org to adopt a drain and learn more! Tips on how to be safe while cleaning the drains are provided. Everyone who adopts drains in the St. Cloud area will receive a yard sign, reusable bag, and a how-to packet. Signs and welcome bags will be delivered after you sign up.
