MNeurodivergent is a 501C-3 non-profit organization located in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area. Our mission is to reduce isolation among neurodivergent individuals by creating welcoming spaces that support them in making meaningful connections with others. We organize a variety of social events, including coffee shop meet-ups and movie nights, that cater to different interests such as crafting and gaming. Our events provide the right level of structure and support for neurodiverse individuals, allowing them to be themselves and build their social networks. We prioritize diversity, inclusion, and accessibility, and welcome neurodiverse individuals from all backgrounds and identities.

Role Description

This is a volunteer role as an Weekend/Week Night Event Organizer with MNeurodivergent. As an Event Organizer, you will be responsible for planning and managing social events in the Saint Cloud area. This is a in person role at events that will also require coordinating/planning of events in between. You will ensure events are well-organized, inclusive, and accessible. Your tasks will involve coordinating with venues, promoting events, handling event logistics, communicating with attendees, and providing excellent customer service. Events will be on the weekends, and potentially week nights depending on availability. Work will not occur during regular business hours.

Qualifications

Previous Event Planning and Event Management skills a plus

Online proficiency with websites like Facebook and MeetUp

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Previous Experience in coordinating inclusive and accessible events a plus

Knowledge of neurodiversity and lived experience as a neurodivergent individual is a plus

Experience in the non-profit sector or with community organizations is beneficial

Availability on weekends required. Availability on week nights a plus

Description: This is a volunteer Regional Event Coordinator role at MNeurodivergent. The coordinator will be responsible for planning and organizing social events, managing communication with attendees, providing customer service, overseeing event logistics, finding other potential local volunteer candidates, locating businesses/local community partners to collaborate on events with, fundraising for local activities, and managing local social media presences. This is a hybrid role based in the Saint Cloud Area

Find events in local community to advertise MNeurodivergent at

Find Neurodivergent people in the local community who are interested in becoming various types of MNeurodivergent volunteers

Look for social media groups, or other public spaces in your local community to advertise MNeurodivergent at

Attend Monthly meetings with the MNeurodivergent board to discuss status of the region you are in charge of

Find additional volunteers in your area
