Research shows that a wish can help a child fight against, or even overcome, a life-threatening illness. This is a wonderful opportunity to create hope, strength and joy for a child with a critical illness! Wish granters sign up to grant the wish of a child, meet virtually or in-person with the child and their family, help the child determine their top wish ideas, and then serve as a connection to the family as staff work on the logistics of the wish! Wish granting volunteers work in teams of two or three to plan and help fulfill each wish and have the opportunity to make the wish as unique as each child. Wish granters also plan monthly "wish boosts" to keep the child's spirits up as staff work on the wish. Applicants should be comfortable and welcoming interacting with children and families. Training is provided and is flexible with your schedule.

Wish granting volunteers work in teams of two or three. We welcome all applicants, but have a particular need to those fluent in Spanish, Hmong, Somali, Arabic, Oromo, and ASL. Bilingual volunteers set families at ease to share their thoughts, concerns, dreams, and questions in the way that is most comfortable for them.
