INDIVIDUALS IN OUR SENIOR LIVING APARTMENTS HAVE GENERAL QUESTIONS OR REQUIRE ASSISTANCE WITH THEIR TECHNICAL DEVICES. PHONES, TV’S, TABLETS, OR COMPUTERS. HAVING A ‘GO TO’ VOLUNTEER TO STEP IN WITH ADVICE, OR SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS WOULD BE A HUGE HELP. CONSIDER GIVING AN HOUR OCCASIONALLY TO LET THEM FUNCTION EASIER IN OUR TECHNICAL WORLD. THEY HAVE ASKED FOR INSTRUCTION HOW TO USE ONLINE GROCERY SHOPPING.

A fresh manicure feels good for anybody. Our residents at Good Shepherd depend on volunteers to help them have this simple pleasure. Tuesday mornings beginning at 9 am in the event center . This is a wonderful way to spend time with special people that want to feel special. A manicure allows time to chat or listen to music as you remove old polish and apply a new coat. No trimming involved. If you have an hour or more between 9:00 am and 11 am to help with this volunteer need, we provide all the supplies and, even though no experience is necessary, we can provide training. URGENT NEED! Could you help once a month? Twice? Every Tuesday? We need help!! *Currently, our residents experience a wait to get their turn. How about having a friend or family join you....Volunteer together and double the fun!

What could be better than assisting with HAPPY HOUR at GOOD SHEPHERD COMMUNITY in Sauk Rapids? Volunteers are needed Thursdays at 3 pm to 4 pm. Residents enjoy live music, an appetizer, and a beverage. Serve up some fun with everyone as you tap your toes to the live music. Volunteers age 21 to 100

This is a wonderful way to spend time with special people that want BINGO. Just one hour once a month! We provide all the supplies. Assist as they play a themed BINGO every third Sunday. 2 to 3 pm. Social! Visit! URGENT NEED. Volunteer with a friend or family member – double the fun! Your time with our residents is all about celebrating and supporting them as they play! Perk up their Sunday once a month (and yours)!

Takes place in our nursing home event center. A different 'theme' each month! Guest lot parking. 

Walk & Roll the Hallways each Thursday at 9:10 am. Meet in the Event Center at the Good Shepherd nursing home to buddy up with a resident. You walk for fitness while a resident gets ‘out’ for a ride! Follow the activity staff along the hallways of our campus! Wave and enjoy the view! Spark friendships!

NEED A REASON TO RISE AND SHINE?  OUR RESIDENTS ASKED FOR A MORNING TO “WHEELY” GET OUT TO WALK OR ROLL AROUND OUR CAMPUS. START YOUR THURSDAY WITH A WALK ONCE A WEEK WITH A RESIDENT FRIEND. NO NEED TO KNOW OUR HALLWAYS….ACTIVITY STAFF WILL LEAD THE WAY. THIS ACTIVITY HAS BECOME VERY POPULAR AND HELP IS NEEDED!

The Northern Delights Store in Good Shepherd needs volunteer cashiers to allow residents, tenants, families, and staff the opportunity to shop and relax in the friendly atmosphere as they snack and shop. The Square System iPad register is user friendly and super simple to operate. Experience the social interaction that the store provides. Join our store team once weekly for a three-hour shift. A great way to spark friendships! Full training provided. Our residents and visitors wish the store was more available for visits and shopping. Our store supports our Foundation! For twice the fun, volunteer with a friend!

Can you help? Our residents would enjoy giving your pet love and attention! Pet visits are in high demand at our senior campus in either Sauk Rapids or Becker.

Let us know if your furry friend would like to visit occasionally to enjoy unconditional affection! No skills needed – just a well behaved, friendly, and vaccinated animal that would love to be petted! 

Time Commitment: Flexible! Tell us your convenient daytime schedule and plan to visit for about an hour.

Friday 2 pm BINGO struggles with having enough helpers!!

BINGO is not so easy if you are unable to move the pieces, hear the number called, or see your card. Consider being the help that allows our residents to fully participate in this #1 favorite activity. Every Friday at 2 pm (or let us know if you are available for twice monthly!) All you need is a sense of fun and a caring heart to make a BIG difference for our senior community! CELEBRATE WITH US each month as we honor residents that 'made another trip around the sun'! Birthday party is held the first Wednesday of each month. Set up at 1:30 and party from 2 to 3 pm. Held in our Event Center in the Good Shepherd nursing home. Parking in our guest parking lot. 

This is a wonderful way to spend time with special people. Cake and beverage served. We provide all supplies. Social! Visit! Urgent need. Volunteer with a friend or family member for twice the fun!!

Medical Escorts: Going alone to an appointment can be stressful, lonely, and scary for our nursing home residents. Ride along free to the appointment. Read, do needlework, catch up on emails, or balance your checkbook as you wait. Then be a welcoming face for them after the appointment and accompany the resident on their return to their Good Shepherd home. No special skills required.

Just an occasional hour in the early evening (day of your choice) or anytime on the weekend could make a huge difference for our Memory Cottage residents. They love games of all sorts (especially BINGO), coloring, painting, puzzles, trivia fun or just chatting to help their long evenings and weekends perk up. A great family project or team with a friend. Volunteers age 12 to 100!

Music is a direct link to happiness and awakens memories! Our Senior Communities in Sauk Rapids or in Becker would LOVE to include your talents! Flexible with your time and schedule or regular visits could be arranged. No need to be professional - just your musical ability to play guitar, piano, accordion, or any string instrument. This is a treasured time spent with our Good Shepherd family!
