A team of 6 volunteers to lead a fun event with our nursing home residents.
September 22 . Set up at 1:30 for your 2 pm event that lasts one hour.
Give us your idea or get inspired with our suggestions:
· Play a game of indoor baseball. Assist with: set up the tee; pitch; chase errant balls then pass to a resident playing outfield; help run wheelchairs to the bases; keep score; dress your baseball best; bring a couple of cheerleaders; provide after game treat of crackerjacks, sing the anthem; sing ‘take me out to the ballgame’. You get the idea!
· Bowling! Help wheelchairs get in position to send the ball down the ramp. Set up the pins. Keep score. Cheer them on. Cheese and crackers to celebrate.
· Volleyball with our beachball. Set up 2 nets and make it a tournament! Make a team trophy. Provide a treat of popsicles!
· Horseracing game is always a hit. But how about the volunteers riding stick horses as they make their way down the track for a win as our residents roll the dice. Who will win? Hairy Trotter or Dolly Troten?? Wear jockey gear or bring out your fascinator or decorated hat. Gather after the win for a mint julep mocktail.
