Information Technology (IT) Internship (Fall/Winter 2016 & Spring 2017)

Basic Function:     The Information Technology Intern will be responsible for configuring new and donated computers prior to their installation, delivering the replacement equipment to the appropriate site, migrating user information (if necessary) and performing any final configuration needed.  The Information Technology Intern will report director to our Information System Specialist.


Internship Responsibilities:

  • The IT intern will be assigned technology problems and issues to resolve.  The resolution may be done remotely or may require visiting the site.  The intern will communicate with the on-site users as necessary to schedule site visits and communicate resolution details.
  • The intern will also be responsible for maintaining the database of installed computer equipment and its location.  This may involve visiting sites in order to perform an audit of the computer equipment present.
  • The intern will also be called upon to assist with large IT projects such as: server installation, networking upgrades, computer lab installation, etc.
  • The Information System Specialist is flexible with the number of hours an IT intern will be working, but 10-20 hours per week would be ideal.



  • Have been or currently in an Information Technology program.  Have knowledge of or taking courses in network administration, computer science, and information technology. 
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Main location will be at the Roosevelt Boys & Girls Club.  However, traveling to other sites in the St. Cloud, Sartell, and Sauk Rapids area is required for installations and troubleshooting.
