Nutrition Educator

Catholic Charities Emergency Services could use volunteers to prepare easy to make recipes, and demonstrate simple meal ideas related to the foods clients receive through Catholic Charities Emergency Services Food Shelf program.  As a result, more clients will feel empowered to prepare healthy home cooked meals, which increases health related benefits and helps in extending their food supply. Demonstration times are once month on a Monday or Wednesday from 8 to 10 am or 4-6. Contact Michelle Callahan at 320-4568 or Kathryn Stolpman at 320-229-4564. The Food Shelf is located at 157 Roosevelt Rd.

Nutrition Educator will plan a recipe, create an ingredients list, shop for ingredients and prepare recipes to demonstrate. (Develop or utilize existing recipes based on what is in season and readily available through Emergency Food Services.); provide portion prepared recipe or foods for client sampling; engage with clients; clean up cooking and demonstration area and put away equipment; and record data and feedback following demonstrations.

Please contact Kris Roberts, Volunteer Coordinator, at 320-229-4590 or to learn about this opportunity, or the many other volunteer opportunities across our 30+ programs, and how you can make a positive difference to individuals and families in Central Minnesota.
